Job description

We are looking for a DevOps / System Engineer for Big Data for our client, which is part of the Austrian insurance group focused on the development and maintenance of software for commercial insurance companies. What will be your main responsibilities? • Operates Applications running on client’s Data Platform and System Engineering Tasks • Runs applications, jobs, and solutions based on the business demand and project requirements for Enterprise Data Use Cases (on-remise / cloud) • Develops Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) artifacts, CICD & automation solutions end-2-end from source (e.g. legacy / mainframe / near real time) to target (files / interfaces / Data marts) by integrating ETL pipelines (Talend Data Fabric, NiFi, et.al.) • Implements Change Data Capture pipelines enabling using real time data feeds • Embracing the DataOps / DevOps methodology and improves our routines and procedures • Candidates are preferred with experience / willingness to lead a smaller tribe of DevOps colleagues and grooming the common backlog

Personality requirements and skills

• Self-motivated and highly self-organized, communicative personality • High Proficiency in Operation Skills (Linux) for Middleware Applications, Scripting (UNIX Shell, Perl, PHP, Python or similar) und DevOps Tools (GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Openshift/Kubernetes) • min 1 year experience on operating Apps using Cloud Infrastructure Provider APIs & Management Consoles (e.g. Azure / AWS / Google) • Experience in developing Java Applications • Experience in Networking & IT Security area (Networks and Network segments, Firewalls, PKIs and Certificates, Kerberos, Load-Balancing, etc.) and Know-How for Web-Service Interfaces (REST, SOAP) Nice to have • Experience with Data Warehousing and BI solutions • Know-How in Job Scheduling & Job Automation (e.g. Automic) • German language is advantage
